Hotel Management
The hotel industry in India is
booming in India with some of the biggest international brands heading for
Indian shores. Institutes providing hotel management courses are also
mushrooming at the same time to meet the demand for well-groomed hospitality
professionals. A course in hotel management from a reputed college will provide
you with qualitative theoretical, practical and on the job industrial training
so that you are ready to take on the hotel industry.
National Council for
Hotel Management and Catering Technology (NCHMCT) is all set to conduct Joint
Entrance Examination for admission to its Bachelor of Science in Hospitality
and Hotel Administration. The scores of Hotel Management JEE are used for
admission to 21 Central Institutes of Hotel Management, 14 State Government Institutes
of Hotel Management and 15 Private Institutes of Hotel Management affiliated
with NCHMCT.
The Bachelor of Science
program in Hospitality and Hotel Administration is offered jointly by the
National Council for Hotel Management and the Indira Gandhi National Open
University (IGNOU). The Three-Year (Six Semester) course equips students with
all the required skills, knowledge and attitude to efficiently discharge
supervisory responsibilities in the Hospitality sector. Students are taught all
aspects of Hotel Management including Food and Beverage Service, Front Office
Operations, House Keeping, Sales and Marketing, Financial Management, Hotel and
Catering Law and Tourism Studies. Other courses such as M.Sc., Post Graduate
Diplomas, Diplomas and Certificate Courses are also available under various
specializations.
ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA
EDUCATION
QUALIFICATION:
Minimum eligibility for the JEE is 10+2 pass (or equivalent)
with English as one of the subjects. Candidates appearing for 10+2 final exam
may also apply provisionally.
AGE
LIMIT:
For OBC and General Categories: Upper age is 22 years
For SC/ST categories: Upper age limit is 25 years.

SELECTION PROCEDURE:
-Admission to first year of B.Sc. Hospitality and Hotel Administration program is strictly based on the All India Rank (AIR) that candidate score in the written test of JEE.
-No group discussion or interview are involved.
-Counseling involves checking of eligibility of candidates, verification of documents,
depositing of counseling and first semester fee and opportunity to opt for choice of
-Institutes as available at the time of his/her counseling as per his / her AIR.
-Candidates should give as many choices after careful evaluation of Institutes based on information available in their respective websites.
-Allotment of Institute shall be as per merit (AIR) and choice of Institute exercised by the candidate.

MARKING SCHEME FOR JEE WRITTEN TEST:
-Each correct answer under Numerical Ability & Analytical Aptitude, Reasoning & Logical Deduction, General Knowledge & Current Affairs and English Language components carry one mark.
-For any wrong answer 0.25 marks will be deducted. The Graded mark(s) will be awarded under Aptitude for Service Sector component in the following manner:
-The most appropriate answer carries 1.00, the next appropriate answer carries 0.75,
-Question Paper will be bilingual i.e. in English and Hindi.

-Candidate securing higher marks in English component of JEE shall rank higher,
-In case of candidates securing equal marks in JEE, as well as in English component of JEE, then the candidate securing higher marks in Service Aptitude Component of JEE shall rank higher.
